OXFORD, Miss. — Little Rock's
Matthew Fox broke his own school record in the men's decathlon Saturday, setting a new standard for excellence in the event with 7,341 points, eclipsing his old mark by more than 100 points (7,236) during the Joe Walker Invitational at Ole Miss.

Fox placed first in the javelin, 110-meter hurdles and discus, second in the pole vault and long jump, and third in the high jump to lead the field.
Patrick Young finished third in the same event, compiling 6,744 points thanks to a first-place finish in the high jump, second in the discus, and third in pole vault.

SEARCY, Ark. — The Trojans earned seven gold-medal finishes Sunday during the Bryan Phillips Open, hosted by Harding University.

Freshman
Abby Machesky won the women's 800 meters, while fellow freshmen
D'Mari Gray and Nicole Thomas won the 400 meters and javelin, respectively.

On the men's side,
Devin Stevens won gold in the 800 meters,
Shane Fisher took the top spot in the 1500 meters,
Joel Allen claimed first in the 3000 steeplechase, and
Deshawn Roberts won gold in the high jump.
