FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A small group from Little Rock got in one final opportunity to compete before heading to the conference championships, hitting the track at the Arkansas Twilight on Friday night. The Trojans head to Cape Girardeau, Mo. next week for the Ohio Valley Championships from May 15-17.
On Friday,
Takia Palmer set a new personal best in the 200 meters, the women's 4x400 relay team won a bronze medal, and five others competed against a long list of schools at John McDonnell Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas. The relay team of
Zoa Adams, Palmer,
Jasmine Torres, and
Aaliyah Booker clocked a 3:46.07 to finish third behind Harding and Pittsburg State. Palmer also ran a 23.61 in the 200 meters to finish sixth.
Falon Short finished fourth in the men's long jump (24-0.25),
TaVieon Neal was sixth in the men's 100 meters (10.32) and
Devin Stevens came in ninth in the men's 800 meters (1:51.05).
