Trojan Women Golfers Have Solid First Day in Puerto Rico

HUMACO, Puerto Rico – The Trojan women golfers are tied for third following the first round of the Puerto Rico Iguana Invitational at Palmas Del Mar Country Club. 

Georgia State and Central Arkansas are tied for first at 11-over. Little Rock and Arkansas State are tied for third at 17-over. Tulane is in fifth a shot behind the two and Ball State is shot behind the Green Wave.

"We were pretty good today," Little Rock head coach Jenna Birch said. "We hope to shoot a little better tomorrow and put some pressure on the leaders. I know we are capable of that."

lara Martin, who was named the OVC Golfer of the Month for February, kept her hot hand. She is tied for six with two others. JJ Gregston and Aletha Paige Gaccion are tied for the lead at one-under.
"lara continues to play well," Birch said. "She is playing with a lot of confidence, and it shows."

Eleonore Aernouts is in the top 10 for the Trojans tied at ninth with two others at three-over. Fehild Graesel was five-over and Cloe Poizac seven-over.
The second round continues tomorrow with players teeing off at 8:30 a.m. CST.
