Playing under head coach Ron Kestenbaum from 1981-83, Lampley was an All-Conference performer who led the Trojans to a 42-14 combined record over his two seasons with the team. His career average of 7.4 rebounds per game ranks ninth on UALR's all-time list, while his 15.1 points per game average over two seasons is the 12th-best in school history.

"It feels great to be inducted because UALR is where I got my start in my basketball career," said Lampley. "I had great teammates and really enjoyed playing in Little Rock. I met a lot of really nice people and it was a great experience for me."

In his first season at UALR, Lampley led the Trojans in scoring (15.4 ppg), rebounding (6.6 rpg), blocks (27), field goal makes (169) and field goal attempts (325) en route to being named First Team All-TAAC, TAAC Newcomer of the Year and UPI Honorable Mention All-American.

In Lampley's second year with the Trojans, he again led UALR in rebounding (8.1 rpg) and blocks (20) and was an NABC Second Team All-District selection. Lampley was named MVP of the 1983 TAAC Tournament after leading the Trojans to the championship game, where they fell to Georgia Southern by a 68-67 final score.

Following his career at UALR, Lampley was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the fifth round of the 1983 NBA Draft. Lampley went on to play professionally in Canada, Belgium, Argentina and Mexico and returned to the NBA for a stint with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1986.

Lampley currently resides in Memphis, Tenn., and has one daughter, Jimmi Lampley, who works at Philander Smith as the school's Freshman Advising Coordinator.
