Simon Gould was a two-time All-American who helped the Trojan water polo team become one of the nation's best, ranked seventh nationally in 1988 and eighth in 1989. A four-time Southern Water Polo Conference Championship MVP, Gould was named the 1988 NCAA Eastern Intercollegiate Water Polo Championships MVP, helping the Trojans win the championship in the process. After being the top goal scorer for three out of four seasons, Gould went on to play with the Australian National Team. Gould also excelled in the classroom, received the Scholar-Athlete Award for Academic Excellence and Sporting Achievement from 1987-89. Gould was inducted in the Albury/Wodonga Sporting Hall of Fame and the College Water Polo Association Hall of Fame in 2013.
