Currently an assistant track and field coach at UTEP, Settle was an All-American and eight-time individual conference champion at UALR under head coach Kirk Elias. He became the first athlete in Sun Belt Conference history to win all three sprints at a conference championship meet, taking the 55, 200 and 400-meter dashes at the 1998 SBC Indoor Championship. Settle was named to the Sun Belt's All-Time Team for indoor and outdoor track in 2006.

"I am really excited about being inducted into the UALR Athletics Hall of Fame," said Settle. "UALR changed my life athletically, academically and professionally."

Settle won the 200-meter dash and earned All-Sun Belt honors in the 200-meters, 400-meters and 4x400-meter relay at the 1997 Sun Belt Indoor Track Championships. At the 1998 SBC Indoor Championships, Settle again earned All-SBC honors and was named Most Outstanding Performer after winning the 55-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter dash races. Settle went on to earn All-SBC honors in the 200-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay at the 1999 SBC Indoor Championships.

In 1997, Settle won the 100-meter and 200-meter events at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships before earning All-America honors in the 200-meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. In 1998, Settle repeated as champ in the 100 and 200-meters and was a member of UALR's champion 4x100-meter relay team at the SBC Outdoor Championships.

After graduating from UALR in 1999, Settle ran track professionally on the international circuit from 2000-04 before joining the UALR track and field staff as an assistant coach from 2005-07. Settle spent three years (2008-10) as an assistant coach at New Mexico before joining the UTEP coaching staff in 2010.

Settle received his bachelor's degree in health education in 1999 and master's in exercise science in 2010, both from UALR. He has one daughter, Champagne Thomas-Settle.
